Welcome to Microsolve
We turn ideas into products. With our in house design team, and network of design engineers, incorporating a surface mount and conventional component electronics manufacturing plant, we can turn your idea or concept into a marketable product.
Our Turnkey Projects
This project involved taking an old 3 layer plastic extrusion machine (plastic bag making machine) and making it more efficient, thereby increasing it’s life span by another 10 years. This involved designing new temperature controllers, screw feed controllers, line speed controllers with a revolutionised gravimetric feed system linked into a P.C. where information displayed instantaneously like speed, width of the material and most importantly thickness of the material being run as individual layer thickness. The system was so designed that the machine could run in an automatic mode with a minimum number of employees. The only other system at that time to do similar control was from Germany at 3 times the price, but would only be installed on the latest available machines. This system is still fully operational at this time, and we still do periodic maintenance on the system.
This was an electrical cable manufacturing company. The requirement was a system which could monitor and control the amount of insulation on a cable while the machine was running. Phase 1 of the system was the gravimetric feed control which was successfully installed. Phase 2 was only installed in 1998, and the system with in the first week of installation saved the company thousands of dollars in insulation material with the feed back of the control systems.
Design an emergency telephone system. The need for this came from the high crime rate experienced and the fraud committed by thieves preying on unsuspecting customers at the automatic teller machines. Microsolve successfully designed the electronics for a wall mounted telephone. The unit had to be robust without a hand set so that vandalising could be reduced to a minimum and easy to use. This required that two numbers be dialled (local police and the lost card division) without the user knowing the numbers firstly, and secondly that the phone not be misused by anyone except for its intended use. One of the major problems with audio is when a microphone is placed near a speaker, a characteristic whistling is heard, this is called feedback, and very difficult to get rid of especially when the microphone and loudspeaker are on the same front plate. This problem was overcome by a simple yet ingenious electronic design.
One of the largest bore hole electric motor suppliers world wide required a low cost motor monitor, manager and protection unit with motor performance data capturing. This product was officially launched in November 1998, and to date have sold approximately 200,000 units.
